Curracloe (Irish: Currach Clo, meaning “marsh of the impression”)

If you ever find yourself on the southeast coast of Ireland I recommend a visit to Curracloe Strand. It was used for the filming of the D-Day scene in Saving Private Ryan in 1997. It has to be one of my favourite places and I’m always sure to make a visit each time we go back home to Ireland. There are a few photographs from my visit at Christmas…

Fiona & Sinclair

This has to be one of my favourite weddings that I shot last year. Fiona & Sinclair met later on in life. Prompted by their daughters to meet someone new, they met on a well known online dating site. Sinclair was nervous asking Fiona to marry him as Fiona had protested that she’d never do it again. The day was filled with much love and happiness. Not only was this a marriage celebration, but with family living in various parts of world it was a chance for all to be reunited.

It just goes to show your never too old to meet someone new… x

Anneke & Gareth

Anneke & Gareth were married at Edinburgh Castle. The girls started their day at Dickson Reid Hairdressing, the boys at the Scotsman Hotel. Anneke’s love of bright colours could be seen throughout the day and her attention to detail was just amazing. The flowers were designed by Planet Flowers, the Bridesmaids dresses were made by talented local supplier Mette at Freja Designer Dressmaking. Anneke wore Stewart Parvin finished with a pair of Jimmy Choos…

Jennifer & Alasdair

Last month I was delighted to shoot Jennifer & Alasdair’s wedding at Holyrood Abbey Church. There was a fairly large amount of guests at this wedding but it still felt very intimate and personal to the couple. Both Jennifer & Alasdair are musicians so music was at the fore front of their ceremony. I have to admit, having ever shot in this church before and with rain forecast for the day, I was a little worried about photographic opportunities however I was pleasantly surprised by a large bright interior with floods of natural light. The ceremony was followed by a ‘tea & cake’ reception before the couple set off for a meal with their families.

Melissa & Dan

I recently had the pleasure of capturing Melissa & Dan’s wedding at Edinburgh’s City Chambers. They come over from the States with a few family members and close friends for an intimate ceremony in the city centre. A last minute surprise wedding gift was brought in – Harpist Tasmin Dearnley! En route to the wedding one of the wedding guests spotted Tasmin busking on the Royal Mile and asked if she would come and play during the ceremony!
